What "1-day rent" means on ECR

A day-use booking gives your group a whole villa for the day: the private pool, the lawn, the living spaces and usually a caretaker. At Villa De Aqua, day use is priced as a discount on that date's overnight rate, so Saturday day use follows the Saturday rate. At the time of writing, day use starts from:

• Cascade Pool, Kuvathur (3 BHK, 12 guests): from ₹10,500 on weekdays
• Rainshower, Kuvathur (3 BHK, 14 guests): from ₹11,200 on weekdays
• Elite, Muttukadu (4 BHK, 18 guests): from ₹15,400 on weekdays

Five things to check before you book

1. Is the pool private? Some "beach houses" share a pool between units. Ask for a private pool, rented to your group only.
2. What is the pool depth? For children, depth matters. Our main pools are 4.5 ft; kids' pools, where a villa has one, are 2.5 ft.
3. Who is on site? A caretaker who can cook changes the day. Ours are caretaker-cum-chefs who make home-style meals on request.
4. What are the extra charges? Ask upfront about extra guests, pets and food. Ours: ₹1,000 per extra bed, ₹1,000 per pet.
5. How far is the beach? "Beach house" on ECR often means near the beach, not on it. Our Kuvathur villas are about 800 m from the beach, and Elite is moments from the Blue Flag beach at Kovalam.
