Deepavali at a private pool villa on ECR: a 2026 planning guide

12 October 2026 · 4 min read

Celebrating Deepavali at a private pool villa on ECR means your family or friends get a whole house, a private pool and a lawn to yourselves for the festival, about 70 minutes to 2 hours from central Chennai. This guide covers which villa suits which group, what a Diwali get-together costs per head at the time of writing, food, and the house rules you should know before you plan crackers or music.

Why a private villa for Deepavali

Every Villa De Aqua villa is rented whole to one group. There are no other guests, so the evening, the music and the food are planned around your people only. Each villa is walled and gated, with a private pool, CCTV, a first-aid kit and a caretaker on the premises.

That makes a villa a good fit for:

  • Family get-togethers where several households want to stay under one roof.
  • Friends' Diwali parties with karaoke, a projector and a long dinner.
  • A quieter festival away from the city, with a slow morning by the pool.

If you are still deciding between a villa and a hotel, our comparison of a private pool villa or a resort on ECR may help.

Which villa suits your group

  • [Elite, Muttukadu](/villas/elite-muttukadu): 4 BHK, sleeps 18. Suits big families, with a sky lounge for billiards, karaoke and a projector, a BBQ area and a 360-degree terrace.
  • [Rainshower, Kuvathur](/villas/rainshower-kuvathur): 3 BHK, sleeps 14. Suits lively groups, with a sports lawn for volleyball and shuttle, a 4K projector, karaoke and a barbeque.
  • [Cascade Pool, Kuvathur](/villas/cascade-pool-kuvathur): 3 BHK, sleeps 12. Suits smaller families, with a grand cascade pool, a hammock-lined verandah and table tennis.

Elite is about 70 minutes from central Chennai. The two Kuvathur villas sit side by side, about 2 hours away and within easy reach of Mahabalipuram. Bigger groups can add extra beds, up to about 30% over standard capacity, at ₹1,000 per extra bed. For more on sizing, see our guide to a villa for 20 people on ECR or the large group villa page.

What a Deepavali stay costs

At the time of writing (see the live rates page for current prices):

  • Cascade Pool: overnight ₹15,000 (weekday) or ₹18,000 (Saturday), day use ₹10,500 (weekday) or ₹12,600 (Saturday).
  • Rainshower: overnight ₹16,000 (weekday) or ₹19,000 (Saturday), day use ₹11,200 (weekday) or ₹13,300 (Saturday).
  • Elite: overnight ₹22,000 (weekday) or ₹32,000 (Saturday), day use ₹15,400 (weekday) or ₹22,400 (Saturday).

The weekend rate applies to Saturday check-ins only, so a festival stay that starts on any other day is priced at the weekday rate. Day use is priced as a discount on that date's overnight rate (30% at the time of writing). Our guide to day use or overnight explains the difference.

Example: 14 people at Rainshower, overnight, with a buffet dinner

  • Saturday check-in: ₹19,000 + Buffet Feast (14 × ₹500) = ₹26,000, about ₹1,860 per person.
  • Weekday check-in: ₹16,000 + Buffet Feast (14 × ₹500) = ₹23,000, about ₹1,640 per person.

Example: 18 people at Elite, overnight, with Barbeque Nights

  • Saturday check-in: ₹32,000 + Barbeque Nights (18 × ₹600) = ₹42,800, about ₹2,380 per person.
  • Weekday check-in: ₹22,000 + Barbeque Nights (18 × ₹600) = ₹32,800, about ₹1,820 per person.

Prices shown are indicative. The team confirms the final price and any discounts when you enquire.

Food for the festival

  • Home-style meals cooked by the caretaker-cum-chef, on request and billed separately. Share your menu ideas when you book.
  • Buffet Feast at ₹500 per head, a spread-style upgrade for larger groups.
  • Barbeque Nights at ₹600 per head: BBQ dinner with a catch-of-the-day seafood grill, karaoke and a projector movie.
  • Reunion Retreat at ₹1,000 per head, with full-day catering, activities and decor, if the whole family is gathering.

See every package on the experiences page.

Crackers, music and house rules

Deepavali plans often include crackers and loud music, so check these rules before the day:

  • Fireworks need written approval from the team in advance. Ask when you enquire.
  • DJ setups also need written approval.
  • Quiet hours are 11 PM to 7 AM.
  • Pools are unsupervised. Main pools are 4.5 ft deep; children must be with an adult and diving is not allowed.

You can read more about safety and house rules on our standard page.

Bringing a pet

All three villas are pet-friendly. Pets are welcome with prior notice at ₹1,000 per pet, and are not allowed in the pool. If your pet is nervous around crackers, plan a quiet indoor room for the evening. See the pet-friendly villa page for details.

Timings

Check-in is at 2 PM and check-out at 12 noon. Early check-in or late check-out is possible on request, subject to availability.
